Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont this weekend, March 7-9, 2025. The event promises to deliver an exciting weekend of automotive excellence, as hundreds of the finest customized vehicles are put on display for causal fans & car enthusiasts alike. It also brings with it the sights & sounds that Winter is ending and Summertime racing is almost within our grasp.

Fresh out of the Driven Restorations shop in Wisconsin, this 425 horsepower Ford wagon will be driven to destroy at the milestone 100th Team Demolition Derby event at Route 66 Raceway’s Dirt Oval in Joliet, Illinois.

To no surprise, a team effort of over 40 hours went into to finding, building, painting, and delivering the car all in time for World of Wheels. Steve Gursky, Jr. and Chris McGuire, both Team Demo champions at Route 66, are right in the middle of the Sting resurgence after reigniting their desire for racing to honor the memory of their father, Steve Sr., who passed away in 2024.

Senior won trophies with the original Sting at Santa Fe Speedway in the 1980s. His last full season of Team Demo was 2012 on Seek-n-Destroy, which included inflicting chaos alongside both McGuire & Steve, Jr. His final race was fittingly behind the wheel for the yellow & black in September 2015.

“Honoring him with one more night of racing was without a doubt the number one factor for our return,” said Gursky, Jr. “The opportunity to race with close friends and family at the 100th Team Demo event was too good to pass up.”
