2016 Tournament of Destruction Round 2: Amateur Night – this Saturday!

Summer is here and it’s time to smash!

Round 2 of the Team Demolition Derby Tournament of Destruction is this Saturday @ Dirt Oval 66 in Joliet, IL
Parking lot opens at 4:00pm, grandstand gates open and the free pre-race party kicks off at 4:30. Engines roar to life at 7:15 for the opening ceremony followed by pure destruction!

Mean Green Machine will attempt to fend off 7 other teams with mayhem on their minds and secure back-to-back event wins. Mean Green is the only team to accomplish that feat since Orange Crush in 2010. The unpredictable action has proven any team can win on any night. Be there LIVE to watch the madness of Round 2 on the path towards the 2016 Tournament of Destruction Championship.

Rookie drivers have already found themselves in full-time ranks of Team Demolition Derby. Now, the second wave is right behind them. Two all-rookie teams will battle in the 4th ever Team Demo Amateur Race! Success in the Amateur Race could equal an immediate call to the next level as all 8 teams actively seek hard-working and hard-hitting talent.

Figure-8 Racing, the Kid Crashers and dazzling fireworks are all part of the Tournament of Destruction this Saturday night!

Reminder: New location for pre-race party

Gates open at 4:30pm and re-entrance is allowed until 7:00pm.

All activities and vehicles will be inside the main entrance gates underneath the grandstands. Now you can see everything immediately after coming through the gates and you don’t have to cut short tailgating. Most sights & sounds will be available all evening!

A few spots remain for kids ages 2, 3, 4 and 5 to compete in Kid Crashers this Saturday at Round 2! All participants will race against their same age group and everyone gets a medal of recognition for competing. Note: the child and parent/guardian must have a valid ticket for the event.
The little tikes will race in front of the grandstands in between each round of Team Demolition Derby. We supply the “cars” and it’s all about fun! Click here to register today!

9-year-old Mikey from Wilmington is our newest Jr. Flagger!

Mikey’s favorite team is the current points leader Mean Green Machine. Very fitting that Mikey will waive the official Green flag for the opening race of Round 2.

Last month’s Jr. Flagger Skyla did an awesome job with the honors. Now it’s Mikey’s turn this Saturday!
