2016 Tournament of Destruction Round 1: Military Appreciation Night – this Saturday!

Memorial Day weekend signals the start of the 2016 racing season @ Dirt Oval 66 in Joliet and Round 1 of the Team Demolition Derby Tournament of Destruction! There is nothing quite like the Team Demos experience; you have to live it to feel it!

Team #6 Orange Crush are the defending series Champions and are in the crosshair of 7 other Teams eager to make a statement. Full Throttle is at full strength looking to build upon their first-ever victory at Round 5 last year. Team #7 Thunderstruck makes their debut and a new wave of rookie drivers will get their first taste of destruction!

Parking lot opens for tailgating at 4:00pm. All spectators must enter through Gate 13. Click Here for the Dirt Oval 66 facility map.

New location for pre-race party

More entertainment all in 1 spot. All activities and vehicles will be inside the main entrance gates underneath the grandstands. This move was made as a benefit to all fans. Now you can see everything immediately after coming through the gates and you don’t have to cut short tailgating. Most of the sights & sounds will be available all evening!

Gates open at 4:30pm and re-entrance is allowed until 7:00pm.

Visit our featured non-profit organization Lockport VFW Post 5788 Auxiliary on the new vendor’s row. Grab some Buddy Poppies, Koozies and learn more about the Veterans programs.

Army National Guard, Coast Guard, Marines, Air Force, and Navy representatives will be in vendor’s row too.
Kids can get behind the wheel of a Marines H1 Hummer!

Cadets from the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox, IL will present the American Flag as part of opening ceremony!

The cadets are under the command of Daniel K. Schliffka, MSgt, USAF (Ret) and the current AFJROTC Aerospace Science Instructor.

Continuing with the Military Night theme, our National Anthem will be sung by Illinois Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Jennifer Kohany of the 108th MMB.
